Was held in Bournemouth between the 19th - 22nd October 2018

This year was the 70th Anniversary of the Pinnace Disaster and a special commemorative service was held at the the HMS Illustrious Memorial at Portland Marina, Osprey Quay, Portland Harbour on Sunday 21st October 2018.

The Reunion was held at the Royale Hotel in Bournemouth where on Friday members of both HMS Illustrious 4 & 5 arrived during the late afternoon and early evening and we all met for a very informal get-together in the Bar where there was the usual exchange of light hearted banter, the pulling up of bollards and the swinging of lamps, for some, into the very early hours.

The AGM was held late Saturday morning and our members relaxed and enjoyed for the rest of the day. In the evening we all enjoyed a Gala Dinner and our Guest of Honour was our serving President Admiral Robert Cooling CB.

Sunday at Midday saw what was a very moving Ceremony which was conducted by the Rev Martin Evans and the names of those of our shipmates that were lost were read out by our President.

Some of our members were took onto the water where a wreath was laid.

After the Service, we went to the Boat that Rocks at Osprey Quay for a Buffet and refreshment.
